Paris Panda Get Around Apple’s Donation Restrictions With The British Forces Foundation App

Paris Panda has designed and developed a ground breaking mobile app for The British Forces Foundation. By  implementing innovative mobile and integrated technology from JustGiving, Paris Panda has launched an app that avoids Apples ‘no donation’ policy.

Launched by mezzo – soprano singer and charity trustee, Katherine Jenkins, the BFF app is the first ever charity app to use JustGiving’s simple donation integration (SDI), a recently released product by JustGiving.  The new ’Mobile View’ technology eases the flow of making donations from an App on a mobile device. All donations are taken by JustGiving and the user is seamlessly taken back to their position in the App after completing a donation. JustGiving has seen conversion rates for mobile donations increase by up to 40%.

Users can login with their Facebook and Twitter accounts to be able to share news stories and the messages they write on the Message Board. As an extra fundraising element, gifts are available to buy and send with messages.

App users can post their messages on ‘the message board’, send virtual gifts, make donations and keep up-to-date with all the latest news from the Charity, like this month’s morale-boosting visit to troops in Afghanistan with Radio One DJ, Tim Westwood.

The App is available for iPhone and Android handsets and gives members of the public a fun way of displaying their appreciation and boosting frontline morale.

Lisa Hibbert, Client Services Director at Paris Panda said: “ Before this latest release, the donation process was really too convoluted for users.  With JustGiving being the charity’s online fundraising facility, it seemed the most logical way forward to work with them to deliver a new and improved streamlined mobile view which is also really groundbreaking for the charity app market.”

Irving D’Mello, Head of Product and Innovation at JustGiving, said: “Over the last 6 months, the proportion of mobile traffic to JustGiving has doubled from 5% to 10% and we’re really excited to be helping charities make the most of this opportunity. The BFF app is the first example of how we can help charities power donations from their iPhone applications, even if Apple won’t allow donations within an app.”

Available now on the iTunes AppStore and Android Marketplace

Professor Green Live Crowd Tagging

Paris Panda has been working on a live crowd tagging application to sit on Professor Green’s Facebook fanpage during his latest tour to promote new album ‘Alive Till I’m Dead’.

After each gig, a new photo is added to the gallery the following day for fans to visit and search for their face in the crowd.  If they are lucky enough to spot themselves, they can tag their face to win signed copies of the album.

Integrating Social Media tools with live events is proving a great way of getting the fans talking about the Professor.   35,600 users have engaged with the app so far. The tour picks up again in February 2011.
